Abstract
Due to improved technology, agricultural production is increasing year after year. Foodgrain production is a major constituent of total agricultural production. Rice is one of the most important food crops grown in the world. Total world foodgrain production increased from 1,215.7 million tonnes in 1970 to 1,786.6 million tonnes in 1987.
